About Us
The Cabin Country Store is a log cabin built in 1972 by a logger, Roy Herman. He built the cabin from a kit by Vermont Log Homes out of pine. The main room had a cathedral ceiling with the stone fireplace extending the height of the wall. The staircase in the main room went to the loft bedroom over the kitchen area.
In the early 80's, the floor was put in above the living room, closing off the stairs. An addition made from hemlock, with an upstairs, was added at the same time. Soon after, the cabin was sold to a couple outside the Philadelphia area. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the cabin was left empty for many years.
Tim & Betsy Blaine purchased the cabin on August 20, 2002. With a lot of tender loving care, the cabin was repaired and restored. The wild brambles and briars were cut away from the front porch and windows. The Cabin Country Store opened its doors on November 20, 2002.
Tim and Betsy have added a beautiful herb garden, calming water features and koi fish. The Cabin continues to be a "labor of love."
